Metro League Baseball
Metro baseball is focused on recreational play for players from the age of 5-14. All players register individually using the convenience of our online registration system. The league sorts players by age and forms rosters by considering the player's school, subdivision, and general area. "Friendship" teams are also available to allow a group of friends to play together in league ball, however there are guidelines in place to promote fair competition, such as limiting practice prior to the distribution of all teams at the managers meeting. SKSA rules require a minimum amount of playing time for each player. SKSA conducts Metro baseball fall and spring seasons, with the fall session focusing on player development while the spring season is a more competitive format.
5U teams play tee-ball, 6U teams plays modified coach pitch, 7U and 8U teams play coach pitch. The goal of these divisions is to teach the basics and fundamentals of baseball preparing them for the older age brackets. Players 9 and above will play kid pitch with each age group progressing to a less restricted set of rules designed to assist with the development of the players.
Metro classification games are played Monday through Thursday (6:00 PM or 8:00 PM) and throughout the day on Saturday. Schedules may include some double-headers. Rain outs are rescheduled for Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons.
